Fire Strategy Planning forms an integral part of every business’s Fire Safety activities, not only in its duty of care to employees and the public, but also as part of its legal obligation under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
How we can help
The two main elements of any company’s Fire Strategy are:
Fire Emergency Plans and Fire Safety Policies
Fire Emergency Plans are implemented to ensure the most efficient and speedy evacuation of occupants from a building in the case of a fire or a suspected fire. Adena Fire will document effective plans and procedures that will detail how the occupants of the building will be warned in case of fire. Specifically they will include the roles and responsibilities of designated employees, summoning and meeting the Fire and Rescue Service, details on escape routes and meeting points, as well as contingency plans. The plan will also include details of how to evacuate persons who are mobility impaired or those with special needs. We can assist in formulating PEEPs (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans) and GEEPs (Generic Emergency Evacuation Plans).
Fire Evacuation Drills
In line with industry best practice, we can supervise two full fire evacuation drills per year. during the drill, our consultants will ensure all occupants follow the Fire Emergency procedures, including evacuation of mobility impaired or those with special needs. The results are then recorded in the Fire Logbook alongside the Fire Risk Assessment. This documentation serves as evidence to show you are in compliance with the Fire Safety Order.
Post-drill our consultant will carry out a de-brief with participants, especially those with additional responsibilities such as the Fire Wardens/Marshals.’
Fire Service professionals, you can trust
Adena Fire’s consultants will visit your premises both to create your tailored Fire Emergency Plan, as well as supervise your Fire Evacuation Drills.
These activities can be done as a standalone service or may be linked with other services we provide such as Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Safety Training. We offer a package price for clients wishing to have either or both of the above services combined with a Fire Risk Assessment and/or Training, if conducted on the same day, at the same site.
