With social distancing measures in place, we have all adapted quickly to using video meetings. As part of our Fire Safety Training, we are now offering virtual training on Microsoft Teams. After running several sessions, our MD, Jacqui has put together some brief but essential tips to help you get the best from your virtual training sessions.
Attending Virtual Training is obviously different from a physical class, so we thought it might be useful to give you a few tips to help you get the best from your session.
Even though you are not physically in the same room as your trainer and fellow delegates, consider where you will physically take the virtual session. Try to find a place where you can concentrate and are free from interruptions – dogs, children, and so on!
Ensure you turn off your mobile phone during the session (or turn to silent mode)
If you’re able to, you may want to connect directly via a ‘wired’ connection to your internet hub. Generally, you can do this using an ethernet cable.
If you have a headset with a microphone, you may find this helpful to use during the training session. Remember to connect your headset before entering the virtual classroom so you can start listening and participating right away.
Please enter the class on time, so that you don’t miss any of the training. You will do this by opening your confirmation email and clicking on the ‘Join Microsoft Teams Meeting’ link
6. Your trainer will introduce you to the function bar below, which you will find by hovering across the screen whilst in the session.
